Level 2 normally 2 years part time. Level
3 normally 1 year part time.
Subjects and areas covered include the following:
Health and safety; Electrical principles,
e.g., Ohms law, Power and current formulae;
Cable sizing and wiring system selection ;
Series and parallel circuits, etc.
Measuring instruments; Electrical Motors;
RLC circuits; Three phase theory including
Power factor correction and Star Delta theory;
Electronics; Inspection and testing; Commissioning
and Fault finding.
Exams include multiple choice papers (Level
2) and multiple choice/short answer papers
(Level 3). Theory multiple choice and written
test papers. Practical testing.
Practical tests (Level 2 and 3).
