The Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology is for anyone interested in a career in the Electrotechnical industry. The Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology can help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to work in the electrotechnical industry. It specifically focus on electrical installation. You might be working in the area already and need to update your qualifications or you can take the qualification as part of an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship.
You'll learn about underlying principles of electricity, health and safety and effective working practices. You'll also gain skills and knowledge in specialist areas - such as electrical maintenance, installing instrumentation or highway electrical systems and testing and inspection of electrical installations. This is normally completed as a 3 year part time course attending one day each week at a technical college. Assessment is by multiple choice, written and practical exams.
This qualification is now being phased out with the last registrations being in July 2012. The course in being replaced by the C&G 2357 Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology details of which are also on this web site and the C&G web site.
